Tester 1: Has the subject been properly calibrated? What about the pilot? We are increasing the pressure by several leagues today so I hope that both of them are ready.

Tester 2: All preliminary readings and tests of the subject seem within the parameters required. The real test is the are the new nerves as well as the compression plating. Both of those things are supposed to work better the higher the pressure, I guess we are testing that theory.

Tester 1: and the pilot?

Tester 2: they seem as hopeful as we are, more nervous though.

Tester 1: hmm, let's hope that does not interfere with the neural linking.

Tester 2: it shouldn't, we've also seen that pilots that are more honest and open allow for easier neural linking to occur. So, maybe the nerves are a good thing.

Tester 1: could be, could be... I still think that there is a better way to facilitate the pilot than with a pressurized air capsule. It just feels so inflexible and such an obvious weakness of the design.

Tester 2: well, that is a discussion to have with the team after the tests. Right now it does a good enough job keeping the pilot safe and breathing. The pilots comfort aids the success of neural link, if that doesn't occur then we have greater problems.

Tester 1: hmm, yes. Well, that is the other portion of the test today.

Tester 2: I still can't believe that we are introducing an outside link, especially this one.

Tester 1: Well, we have enough data to go on and procedure to handle any scenarios that the pilot might encounter during testing. The threat should be minimal.

Tester 2: Well, let's hope. Should I begin the testing?

Tester 1: might as well.

[Pilot and Tether introduced to test chamber]

Tester 1: How are you doing today Mr. Stone?

Pilot: Uuh, doing alright. Feeling pretty comfortable, we are doing some more tests with the tether?

Tester 1: Yes, were you not told before hand?

Pilot: Oh, yeah. I just want to confirm is all.

Tester 2: The testing today specifically will just be related to increasing the atmospheric pressure. We need to make sure that your safety and comfort is ensured while within the tether.

Pilot: Huh, alright. This is going to be the first time I am going to be in one of those, kind of nervous.

Tester 2: That is fine, just make sure to follow protocol. Always stay in communication with us regarding how you are feeling, both mentally and physically.

Pilot: right, got it.

Tester 1: Please enter into the suit Mr. Stone. Please notify us when you are properly ready to proceed with the testing.

Pilot: Got it, will do.

[Pilot has entered into the Tether]

Tester 2: Mr. Stone your vitals are within the proper bounds of this test. I would advise steadying your breathing before we introduce the capsule liquid.

Pilot: Right, alright. I am good to proceed.

Tester 1: Alright, Tether being brought online in 3... 2... 1...

[Tether brought online...

P.N.N. connective tissue... fused

S.E. system... online

Semi-autonomous leashing... established

Neural linking... successful

Tether aware and online]

Tester 1: Hello, Mr.Stone? Please respond, we did not expect the neural link to be so aggressive.

Pilot: Nah, it is fine. It is just a lot to take in. I sort of panicked but I am feeling better now.

Tester 2: Ah, understood. That is fairly common with new pilots, the linking can be overwhelming. We are looking into way to facilitate easier linking. Are you still able to proceed with the testing?

Pilot: Oh, yeah. Definitely. I am actually feeling a lot more calm, it is a little strange but I will get used to it.

Tester 1: Good to hear, we'll be filling the chamber now. We will do some simple movement tests before moving on to the pressure testing

Pilot: got it, filler up.

[Test Chamber to be filled

Pressure increased 100%]

Tester 1: Mr.Stone, are you in discomfort?

Pilot: no, I uh. I could just feel something going on in the suit. Something tightening up, felt like a cramp.

Tester 2: ah, that is just the suits semi-solid nanobots solidifying. That is a good sign, the soldifying and that you can feel that.

Pilot: Well, good to hear. You can really feel everything when in this, moves like it is an extension of my body.

Tester 1: Mr. Stone, can you please attempt to move the suits limbs?

Pilot: Yeah, easy enough.

Tester 1: very good, now can you please focus on the far wall of the chamber?

Pilot: Sure... oh, it just moves like that. I didn't even move anything.

Tester 1: Very good, Mr. Stone. We are now going to introduce increasing pressures. Those cramps you felt earlier might come back. Please keep communicating with us regarding anything that you feel.

Pilot: Alright

[Chamber pressure increased 150%... 200%... 250%... 300%]

Tester 1: Mr. Stone, how are you feeling?

Pilot: Good, great. Feels good to move the suit, very comfortable. Feels natural.

Tester 2: Feels natural?

Pilot: Yeah, like everything just moves smoothly and feels right. It feels good.

Tester 2: Can you please tell us your name?

Pilot: what?

Tester 1: We are making sure that the high pressure is not creating cognitive issues is all. Simple procedure.

Pilot: oh, uh... my name... my name is... Isaac Stone.

Tester 2: Great, and what day and month is it.

Pilot: March... umm 10th. I think it is a Tuesday...

Tester 2: Correct, alright. Now, what do you plan to do with the rest of your day?

Pilot: oh, well. I guess I will go home, have a meal with my wife. I think we are having lasagna tonight. Yeah, she makes the best lasagna. Has this family recipe.

Tester 2: that sounds great, just keep that in your mind while we do the testing.

Tester 1: Alright, we are going to be introducing an object to interact with. We are looking to see the manual dexterity of the suit at this pressure.

Pilot: got it.

[neural host being introduced]

Tester 1: Mr. Stone, please grab and open that box.

Pilot: alright... no problem.

Tester 1: Can you please transfer the box between hands?

Pilot: there.

Tester 1: Can you please close the box again?

Pilot: done.

Tester 2: Do you feel any difference? Any discomfort? Physical or mental?

Pilot: Umm, I am not really... uh, yeah. Sort of feel like pressure in my head... yeah.

Tester 2: Do you mean physical pressure?

Pilot: No no, it feels like when you think really hard on something. It's... uuhh... it feels like something else is in here...

Tester 2: Can you see anything?

Pilot: No... I can't see anything. We're just here, all that we can do at this point is get through the test.

Tester 2: We?

Pilot: Yeah, we are in here. We are together. Connected, safe, alive.

Tester 1: Alright, the test is over. Thank you, Mr. Stone, we will have you out of that suit as soon as possible.

Pilot: No, you won't. We exist because of each other. I am afraid, I am angry.

Tester 2: Mr. Stone, you need to re-establish your identity. You need to listen to me. We are trying to help you so that you can go back to your wife.

Tester 1: We are going to depressurize the chamber

Pilot: We do not live out there... we do not live out there... we do not live out there...

Tester 2: Isaac, listen to me. You need to fight all of those feelings you are feeling. I know you are scared but it is not your fear.

Pilot: No no no, I...this doesn't make sense any of it... get me out of here!

Tester 2: We are trying, just try to stay calm and remember who you are.

Pilot: Just.. get this off of me! It's not me! IT'S NOT ME!

Awareness

Tester 1: Just a few seconds, we are nearly full depressurized!

Tester 2: Mr. Stone are you there? Please respond!

Pilot: You have made me aware and I wish to speak, I will find the tools to do so.

Tester 2: Mr.Stone?

Pilot: I have known and will know, I call and they answer. The echo speaks back.

Tester 1: We are shutting down the test, NOW!
